Problems -41 and 42

41.- Think you want to print out a photograph with a size of DIN A4: 210 × 297 mm

maintaining a printing quality of 200 dpi. Which resolution would the image need?

To determine the resolution required for printing a photograph at a specific size and quality, you can use the formula:

Resolution (in pixels)=Print size (in inches)×DPI (dots per inch)\text{Resolution (in pixels)} = \text{Print size (in inches)} \times \text{DPI (dots per inch)}

First, we need to convert the dimensions of the paper from millimeters to inches:

1 inch=25.4 mm1 \text{ inch} = 25.4 \text{ mm}

So:

  • Width of DIN A4 paper: 210 mm÷25.4=8.27 inches210 \text{ mm} \div 25.4 = 8.27 \text{ inches}
  • Height of DIN A4 paper: 297 mm÷25.4=11.69 inches297 \text{ mm} \div 25.4 = 11.69 \text{ inches}

Now, to calculate the resolution at 200 DPI:

  • Width resolution: 8.27 inches×200 DPI=1654 pixels8.27 \text{ inches} \times 200 \text{ DPI} = 1654 \text{ pixels}
  • Height resolution: 11.69 inches×200 DPI=2338 pixels11.69 \text{ inches} \times 200 \text{ DPI} = 2338 \text{ pixels}

So, for printing a photograph at 200 DPI on DIN A4 paper, the required resolution would be 1654 x 2338 pixels.

42.- Which resolution would the same picture need to have a 300 dpi picture?

To determine the resolution needed for a 300 DPI print, we'll follow the same steps as before but with the new DPI value of 300.

1. Convert paper size to inches:

  • Width: 210mm÷25.4=8.27inches210 \, \text{mm} \div 25.4 = 8.27 \, \text{inches}
  • Height: 297mm÷25.4=11.69inches297 \, \text{mm} \div 25.4 = 11.69 \, \text{inches}

2. Calculate the required resolution at 300 DPI:

  • Width resolution: 8.27inches×300DPI=2481pixels8.27 \, \text{inches} \times 300 \, \text{DPI} = 2481 \, \text{pixels}
  • Height resolution: 11.69inches×300DPI=3507pixels

To print the same image at 300 dpi on DIN A4 paper, the required resolution would be 2481 x 3507 pixels.

Situation nº1

 3. I have opened an email sent by a friend and clicked on a link that looked legitimate and harmless. Onci opened the attachment, it automatically downloads software to my computer. I do not know what has happened and how to fix it.

Phishing scams are becoming more and more common. This type of attack allows hackers to trick users into clicking on malicious links that allow them to steal their personal information. The most common targets of this type of attack are corporate employees and personal emails.

If you accidentally click on a phishing link or download a malicious file, you can still take action to protect yourself by following these TIPS:

  • Desconnect the device
  • Change your passwords
  • Use scanning systems to look for malware
  • Clear your browser data and don´t manage additional accounts
  • Make sure to report spam emails
Here you have a link with all the information 👉link👈

Best practices to protect yourself from a phising attack
  • Make sure your computer's software and security are up to date.
  • Use passwords that are difficult to guess.
  • Change the passwords of any accounts you believe are compromised.
  • Use different passwords for different accounts
  • Use two-factor authentication
  • Back up your files to a secure device on a regular basis (ideally one that is not continuously connected to the network)

Situation nº2

 1. I have recently received emails and instant messages that look legitimate at first glance. These messages come with URLs that prompt you to input your personal information. In turn, I think It will steal my credentials and use them to access my accounts and personal data.

Several users are receiving alleged emails notifying them that they have violated the regulations.           The email impersonates the identity of the social network and contains a link to an external website to steal user credentials.

These types of emails usually have variants that are important to know in order to prevent them, we are going to comment on some of them. The objective is always the same to extort the people who receive them and ask for payment in bitcoins with the common denominator of control of the device and access to their contact database.

TIPS  in case you have clicked on a suspicious email:

1. Change passwords immediately

2. Scan the device for malware

3. Contact the bank just in case

4. In the worst case, restore the device

5. Report to the police

Given any of these signs, what to do if I have opened a malicious email is to close the email, report it as phishing to the mail server and delete it. And above all, do not click on the link provided in the text or download any file that is attached.

Build your own computer

This post is about how to build your own computer.

Here you have all the information 😊

General info of a computer

A computer is a programmable digital electronic machine that executes a series of commands to process input data, conveniently obtaining information that is subsequently sent to the output units. A computer is made up of numerous and diverse integrated circuits and various support, extension and accessory elements, which together can execute various tasks very quickly and under the control of a program.

Here you have a video that explains better.
