Situation nº1

 3. I have opened an email sent by a friend and clicked on a link that looked legitimate and harmless. Onci opened the attachment, it automatically downloads software to my computer. I do not know what has happened and how to fix it.

Phishing scams are becoming more and more common. This type of attack allows hackers to trick users into clicking on malicious links that allow them to steal their personal information. The most common targets of this type of attack are corporate employees and personal emails.

If you accidentally click on a phishing link or download a malicious file, you can still take action to protect yourself by following these TIPS:

  • Desconnect the device
  • Change your passwords
  • Use scanning systems to look for malware
  • Clear your browser data and don´t manage additional accounts
  • Make sure to report spam emails
Here you have a link with all the information 👉link👈

Best practices to protect yourself from a phising attack
  • Make sure your computer's software and security are up to date.
  • Use passwords that are difficult to guess.
  • Change the passwords of any accounts you believe are compromised.
  • Use different passwords for different accounts
  • Use two-factor authentication
  • Back up your files to a secure device on a regular basis (ideally one that is not continuously connected to the network)

Situation nº2

 1. I have recently received emails and instant messages that look legitimate at first glance. These messages come with URLs that prompt you to input your personal information. In turn, I think It will steal my credentials and use them to access my accounts and personal data.

Several users are receiving alleged emails notifying them that they have violated the regulations.           The email impersonates the identity of the social network and contains a link to an external website to steal user credentials.

These types of emails usually have variants that are important to know in order to prevent them, we are going to comment on some of them. The objective is always the same to extort the people who receive them and ask for payment in bitcoins with the common denominator of control of the device and access to their contact database.

TIPS  in case you have clicked on a suspicious email:

1. Change passwords immediately

2. Scan the device for malware

3. Contact the bank just in case

4. In the worst case, restore the device

5. Report to the police

Given any of these signs, what to do if I have opened a malicious email is to close the email, report it as phishing to the mail server and delete it. And above all, do not click on the link provided in the text or download any file that is attached.

Here you have all the information.

Build your own computer

This post is about how to build your own computer.

Here you have all the information 😊

General info of a computer

A computer is a programmable digital electronic machine that executes a series of commands to process input data, conveniently obtaining information that is subsequently sent to the output units. A computer is made up of numerous and diverse integrated circuits and various support, extension and accessory elements, which together can execute various tasks very quickly and under the control of a program.

Here you have a video that explains better.

Components of a computer

The components of a computer are:

-Motherboard

-Processor (CPU)

-Memory (RAM)

-Storage (UNITS)

-Video card/graphics

-Proccessing unit (GPU)

-Casing

-Case fans

-Power supply

Motherboard

 MOTHERBOARD

The motherboard, also known as the main board, is a printed circuit board to which the components that make up the computer are connected. Holds all the hardware in place. Every PC has one, from dedicated workstations to personal notebooks.
Motherboards offer different form factors (general specs encompassing circuitry arrangement, overall size, number of ports, etc.), and only specific motherboard models can fit into certain computer cases/chassis, especially for customisable desktops.

Processor CPU

 PROCESSOR CPU

The central processing unit (CPU) - commonly referred to as the processor - is the ‘brain’ of your computer. The CPU solves all the sophisticated algorithms and programming your computer does while running programs or applications.

Nowadays, almost all processors possess multiple CPUs to achieve quicker processing speeds, ensuring faster response times when using software or browsing the web. These special processors are called multi-core processors, with each CPU designated as 1 processing core.

Memory (RAM)

 MEMORY (RAM)

Computers have different forms of memory that store information and data, and the more prominently discussed is random-access memory (RAM). A RAM device keeps important currently-used data and codes on standby, loading them instantly when respective programs or apps are opened.

RAM is a volatile type of memory, meaning all stored memory is refreshed after turning off the PC. This allows the device to quickly absorb new data immediately during the next session, prompting quicker loading processes.

Video card/graphics

 VIDEO CARD/GRAPHICS

Audio and graphics processing is necessary for many popular applications like modern video games, streaming services, and 3D animation.

A video card, also known as a graphics card or graphics processing unit (GPU), is an essential component of a computer that enables the user to view visual information on the monitor. It processes data in the form of pixels, which make up images. This makes it possible to stream videos, play games in high resolution, and create intricate animations.

What are the components of a Video Card?

A video card usually consists of several components such as memory chips, a processor core, connectors for video output connections, and cooling system elements. The memory chips store data and instructions related to gaming or other visuals for quick access by the GPU processor core. The graphical output connections are used to connect the graphics card to an external display device such as a monitor or projector for viewing visuals. Finally, the cooling system element helps prevent any parts from overheating due to extended periods of intense use.

Storage (UNITS)

 STORAGE (UNITS)

The storage unit is a part of the computer system which is employed to store the information and instructions to be processed. A storage device is an integral part of the computer hardware which stores information/data to process the result of any computational work.

Without a storage device, a computer would not be able to run or even boot up. Or in other words, we can say that a storage device is hardware that is used for storing, porting, or extracting data files.

Types of Computer Memory

  1. Primary Memory
  2. Secondary Memory
  3. Tertiary Memory

Proccessing unit (GPU)

PROCCESSING UNIT (GPU)

Graphics processing unita specialized processor originally designed to accelerate graphics rendering. GPUs can process many pieces of data simultaneously, making them useful for machine learning, video editing, and gaming applications.
Designed for parallel processing, the GPU is used in a wide range of applications, including graphics and video rendering. Although they’re best known for their capabilities in gaming, GPUs are becoming more popular for use in creative production and artificial intelligence (AI).

Casing

 CASING

A computer case, also known as a computer chassis, is the enclosure that contains most of the hardware of a personal computer. The components housed inside the case (such as the CPU, motherboard, memory, mass storage devices, power supply unit and various expansion cards) are referred as the internal hardware, while hardware outside the case (typically cable-linked or plug-and-play devices such as the display, speakers, keyboard, mouse and USB flash drives).

Case fans

CASE FANS

A computer fan is any fan inside, or attached to, a computer case used for active cooling. Fans are used to draw cooler air into the case from the outside, expel warm air from inside and move air across a heat sink to cool a particular component. Both axial and sometimes centrifugal (blower/squirrel-cage) fans are used in computers. Computer fans commonly come in standard sizes, such as 92 mm, 120 mm (most common), 140 mm, and even 200–220 mm. Computer fans are powered and controlled using 3-pin or 4-pin fan connectors.

FUNCTION:
Fans are used to move air through the computer case. The components inside the case cannot dissipate heat efficiently if the surrounding air is too hot.

Power supply

 POWER SUPPLY

A power supply unit (PSU) converts mains AC to low-voltage regulated DC power for the internal components of a desktop computer. Modern personal computers universally use switched-mode power supplies. Some power supplies have a manual switch for selecting input voltage, while others automatically adapt to the main voltage.
